Preview | Aberystwyth Town Women vs Swansea City Women
Swansea City Women will look to continue their fine recent form when they travel to face Aberystwyth Town Women in the Genero Adran Premier this afternoon (2pm kick-off.)
The Swans have won their last three games in all competitions and will be looking to extend their winning run at Park Avenue.
In their last outing, a dramatic late winner from Robyn Pinder secured three points for the Swans at The New Saints, with the forward's third goal of the season coming in the 97th minute.
Aberystwyth currently sit one place below the Swans in the table, having suffered their first loss of the season in their last outing at home to Wrexham.
Despite their recent defeat, the Seasiders have had a strong start to the season, having fought for a goalless draw away at champions Cardiff City Women.
PRE-MATCH VIEWS
Swansea City Women’s interim head coach Chris Church: “It’s another good opportunity for us, we want to keep this momentum moving.
“We are taking each game as it comes, step by step, if we can keep this good run going at a crucial time then it will stand us in good stead for the rest of the season.
“It’s not about Aberystwyth and what they will do, it’s about us and what we can do, we can only focus on our performance."
PREVIOUS MEETING
The two sides last met in the penultimate game of phase one in last season's Genero Adran Premier campaign, with the Swans being held to a 2-2 draw.
Emily Thomas, who would go on to join the Swans this season, put Aber ahead after 30 minutes.
Stacey John-Davis levelled with two minutes before the break, before Lailah Muscat headed in Swansea's second to send her team into the break 2-1 to the good.
However, Amy Jenkins would level for the Seasiders early in the second half and, despite pressure from the Swans, Aberystwyth were able to hold strong and secure a point.
