Preview | Aberystwyth Town Women v Swansea City Women
Swansea City Women play their final game of the 2023-24 Genero Adran Premier campaign when they travel to face Aberystwyth Town this evening (5.10pm kick off).
Having secured second place in the league, the Swans will be looking to end the campaign with a win to take into next weekend’s Genero Adran Premier Trophy final against Cardiff City.
Hosts Aberystwyth are in search of their first win in phase two of the Genero Adran Premier, having secured one point in their previous five games.
PRE-MATCH VIEWS
Swansea City Women’s interim head coach Chris Church: “It is always a tough test against Aberystwyth, they try to frustrate you and feed off mistakes, so it’s up to us to make sure we use the ball wisely.
“When we are in front of goal, we need to be ruthless with it, they will look to make it difficult and restrict the number of chances, so we need to take the ones we create.
“We want to sign off the league campaign with a win, we will be looking for three points as always and we will give it everything.”
PREVIOUS MEETING
The two sides met just four days ago, with a young Swansea City side securing a draw against Aberystwyth at Llandarcy Academy of Sport.
Amy Jenkins had given the visitors the lead after just eight minutes, getting hold of a loose ball to open the scoring.
But the Swans responded quickly as Monet Legall’s third goal of the season levelled matters; her low shot from the edge of the box beating the goalkeeper.
