Premier League Kicks participants represent Swansea City AFC Foundation at Black History Month tournament in Bristol
Swansea City AFC Foundation was represented by Premier League Kicks participants from Seaside in Llanelli at a Black History Month tournament hosted by Bristol City Robins Foundation.
October marked Black History Month in the United Kingdom, with the Swans Foundation celebrating across a number of projects including their Premier League Primary Stars and Premier League Kicks programmes.
And they rounded off with a trip to the Imperial Sports Ground in Bristol.
The Robins Foundation welcomed clubs from across the south-west to take part in a question and answer workshop with a panel including inspiring black people from the Bristol community, as well as Bristol City Women first-team players.
Participants learned about the importance of being an ally on and off the football pitch, as well as having the opportunity to ask the panel questions.
“We’ve brought a boys' team and a girls' team from our Premier League Kicks Seaside session,” said Craig Richards, youth engagement manager at Swansea City AFC Foundation.
“It’s great to come together with a number of different club community organisations, so we thank Bristol City Robins Foundation for hosting us.
“We took part in a question and answer session with some inspiring people from the Bristol community. It’s important for children of this age to learn about these issues and how they can help, and hopefully these lessons will live with them.
“It was a brilliant opportunity for our participants to have the chance to pull on the Swans kit and represent our community.”
The Swans Foundation deliver 11 weekly Premier League Kicks sessions in Cefn Hengoed, Gorseinon, Seaside, Aberystwyth, Townhill, Newtown, Cefn Saeson, Pembroke, Ammanford, Morriston and Blaenymaes.
Sessions are free and you can click here to sign up.
