Pozuelo hoping to play his part
26th August
Alejandro Pozuelo is hoping to play a big part as Swansea City look to book their spot in the Europa League Group Stage on Thursday.
The Swans lead Petrolul Ploiesti 5-1 ahead of their return tie in Romania later this week thanks to a fine performance at the Liberty in the first leg.
Pozuelo came off the bench to score the fifth and final goal, which takes his tally in Europe to two following his strike in the first-leg win over Malmo in the previous round.
And the tricky Spaniard, who was also introduced in the second half of Sunday's defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in the Barclays Premier League, hopes to play a bigger role as the Swans look to finish the job against Petrolul on Thursday.
"I was delighted with my performance and goal in the first leg," said Pozuelo. "It was a lovely pass from Michu and I had picked my spot but their keeper went down pretty early so I decided to chip him.
"I feel that I am improving each day in training and just by being part of the squad.
"For this game we are leading 5-1, but we still have to be professional and progress.
"This is an important game for us, because hopefully I will get another opportunity to show the manager that I can play and be important for the team for the rest of the season.
"To reach the Group Stages would be really good for us - but first we must come through our second leg on Thursday.
