Potter: Let's finish strong
Graham Potter wants his Swansea City players to show the right attitude and application to ensure they finish the season strongly.
There are just five games remaining of a relentless Championship campaign for the Swans; a season which has seen ups and downs but has left an overall sense of optimism of the burgeoning development of a young squad under Potter’s guidance.
Recent home displays against Brentford, Middlesbrough and Stoke gave supporters plenty to be excited about, while the Swans also enjoyed a memorable run to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup where they so nearly stunned Premier League champions Manchester City.
But the job for 2018-19 is far from done, with the visit of Rotherham on Good Friday setting up the final quintet of fixtures.
Manager Potter is well aware that minds can wander as the end of a campaign nears, but he wants all involved at Swansea City to keep themselves firmly focused on the task in hand.
“We have a responsibility to our supporters, to the football club and the players have a responsibility to themselves. Every game is an important one for them and their careers,” said Potter.
“There is a picture for next year that has yet to take shape and they are human beings, not robots.
“So, there is always that little element where you have to get your head around things as the end of the season approaches and that is part of being a professional.
“That’s their job, that’s what they are there to do and that’s the next part of their job ultimately. So, I am looking forward to how we react to that.”
