Victor Wanyama came off the bench to score a late winner as Southampton secured victory over 10-man Swansea.
The home side dominated the early stages as Wilfried Bony's header was cleared off the line and Wayne Routledge saw an effort hit the crossbar.
But the game changed before the break as Bony was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Maya Yoshida, which allowed the Saints to be more adventurous in the second period.
Graziano Pelle saw two headers saved by Lukasz Fabianski, but it was Wanyama who had the final say as his rising shot found the far corner with just nine minutes remaining.

The Swans suffered a late defeat against Southampton in their final home game of the 2013-14 season.
In a typical end of season affair, both sides struggled to create chances and the game looked destined to end in stalemate.
Sam Gallagher headed wide for the visitors, while Swansea's top scorer Wilfried Bony shot wide in the second half.
But the Saints took home all three points when Ashley Williams' wayward clearance was tapped in by Rickie Lambert from just a yard out.

Both sides had to settle for a point in a hard-fought encounter at the Liberty Stadium.
Rickie Lambert came close to opening the scoring for Southampton when his first-half free-kick forced Michel Vorm into a smart save.
The Swans found it hard to break down a stubborn Saints defence, with Nathan Dyer seeing his shot cleared off the line by Maya Yoshida.
Southampton could have won it late on but substitute Emmanuel Mayuka was denied by Vorm.

The Swans extended their unbeaten home run as they eased to a comfortable win over struggling Southampton at the Liberty.
Darren Pratley put the home side ahead after just 12 minutes, finishing well after a fine cross from Tom Butler.
Jordi Gomez doubled the lead shortly before the hour mark as he tapped in from close range, while Butler completed the win with a right-foot shot from the edge of the boz.
