PAST MEETINGS: Stoke v Swans

Substitute Jonathan Walters struck the winner as Stoke came from behind to defeat Swansea and claim just their second home league win this season.

The visitors, dominant in the first half, went ahead through a Wilfried Bony penalty after Ryan Shawcross was penalised for a foul on the Ivorian striker.

Stoke levelled through a Charlie Adam penalty before the break, however, as Angel Rangel was harshly judged to have fouled Victor Moses.

But in the second half, Walters' impact was immediate as he headed home Oussama Assaidi's cross to give the home side all three points.

Relegation rivals Stoke and Swansea each moved another point away from the relegation zone after playing out a draw at a windy Britannia Stadium.

The game was in doubt at one stage because of the weather, and kick-off was delayed by 15 minutes.

Stoke led at the break when Peter Crouch fired home after Peter Odemwingie had hit the base of a post.

But the Swans saved a point in the second half as Chico Flores headed in Pablo Hernandez's cross.

Swansea ended a run of five successive defeats with victory at Stoke - which dented the Potters' chances of automatic promotion.

The expectant home crowd was silenced as the second-from-bottom visitors took a deserved two-goal lead inside 31 minutes.

Jason Price capitalised on a mistake by Wayne Thomas to hit the net - then Kristian O'Leary bagged the second when he picked his spot from 18 yards following a Nicolas Fabiano corner.

Stoke huffed and puffed after the break but it was nine minutes from time before they could pull a goal back through James O'Connor, but the brave Swans held on.
