Olsson: We must believe
Martin Olsson has urged Swansea City to have confidence and belief when they face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on today (4.30pm).
Pep Guardiola’s star-studded team play for the first time since being crowned champions last weekend with five games of the season still to play.
They will start as strong favourites to triumph against opponents who have lost on all six of their previous Premier League visits to the Etihad Stadium.
But Olsson, who was part of the Swans side that came agonisingly close to claiming a point at Manchester City last season, reckons his team-mates can take inspiration from that game as they look to cause an upset this afternoon.
“Manchester City have got such a big squad so even if they make changes, their team will still be full of quality,” the left-back said.
“You can see the influence of Pep on the side in the way they’ve been playing. He’s made them play very good football.
“We’re determined to give 100 per cent and we’re going there to get something. They had pretty much the same side last season and I think we did very well against them at the Etihad.
“It will be tough, but if we go out there with confidence and belief, you never know what can happen.”
