Coach Ollie Jefferies felt Swansea City Under-18s' win over Watford showcased the spirit and mentality in the squad after they claimed their first away victory of the season.

A Sammy Henia-Kamau brace earned the age-grade side a well-deserved three points. The 17-year-old scored either side of the break, with the Hornets netting an equaliser following his opener in the first half.

And Jeffries praised the young Swans character and attention to detail as they got back to winning ways.

"It’s been a week where all the staff internally have rallied together to support the players. It was important we delivered a performance which represented that collectively as a group," said Jefferies.

"The players really stuck to the detail in all moments of the game. We played some of our best football of the season during the first half and were unfortunate not to come in leading at half-time.

"A big focus this week has been on our defensive structure. During the second half there were moments we had to be resilient, compact, and defend our box.

"The boys from front to back showed tremendous character to do that and were really well supported by the players that came on. That collective spirit and mentality is what enabled us to get a great and well-deserved result."
