Ollie Cooper set to return for Bristol City clash
Russell Martin has confirmed that Ollie Cooper is expected to return for Sunday’s match against Bristol City at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The 23-year-old was withdrawn at half-time in the defeat to Middlesbrough last weekend after taking a knock during the first half.
He subsequently missed the midweek trip to Millwall entirely but the Swans boss confirmed that Cooper – fresh off his first senior call-up to the Wales side – is back in training and is available for selection.
Martin also confirmed that Joe Allen – who was forced off the pitch with injury against Luton Town – is also progressing well.
“Ollie Cooper is back which is great news, but I think that’s it to update you on,” said Martin.
“Joe will be back after the international break so he’s progressing well.”
Steven Benda remains the only long-term absentee with the German shot-stopper ruled out for the rest of the season.
