Naughton ruled out for season
7th April
Swansea City defender Kyle Naughton has been ruled out for the rest of the season with ankle ligament damage.
Naughton was carried off in the 53rd minute of Saturday's 3-1 victory over Hull City at the Liberty Stadium following a tackle from David Meyler.
The Hull midfielder received a straight red card for the tackle as Naughton was helped from the pitch before being taken to hospital with a severely swollen ankle.
An initial scan on Saturday ruled out a fracture, but a follow up scan last night confirmed ligament damage that will keep the January signing from Spurs out for around six weeks.
With just seven league games left, it's a blow for Naughton and the Swans with the right-back continuing to impress with every appearance.
The injury opens the way for the return of Swans stalwart Angel Rangel who received a rapturous reception stepping off the substitutes bench on Saturday.
"It's not good because Kyle has an injury and I don't wish bad on anyone, but from my point of view I always try and be ready so if the manager needs me I'll try my best," said Rangel.
