Nathan Wood set to miss Rotherham clash
Nathan Wood will miss Swansea City’s clash with Rotherham United, head coach Luke Williams has confirmed.
The defender was absent for the midweek win over Stoke City due to injury and, although the Swans boss does not expect the problem to be a long-term one, he will not be available against the Millers.
Joe Allen, Kyle Naughton and Przemysław Płacheta will also be sidelined for the Swans.
“It is not something really bad, with Woody,” said Williams.
“He is a tough guy, so if he can feel something is impeding his performance then you know there is something there.
“There is nothing major on the scan, but there is something there stopping him from playing how he wants to play. I think it will be a short-term injury.
“Przemy has had a minor setback, so he has had a re-scan and we are waiting on more information.
“It’s a shame as we felt we had a good grasp on the plan to help him get back, but it might be longer than we expected.
“It will be difficult for Kyle to get back before the end of the season. I was very happy with his performances when he played, he was excellent and he is a top person with a top mentality.
“With Joe we will have to play it by ear as time is ticking away, and we need to make sure he is completely recovered, it would be irresponsible to do otherwise.
“If he is healed and has training time then good, but we will need to see.”
