Nathan Wood back from injury for Huddersfield assignment
Swansea City have Nathan Wood back from on injury for Saturday’s Championship trip to Huddersfield Town.
The centre-half had missed the games against Stoke City and Rotherham United, but is in contention to take on the Terriers.
But head coach Luke Williams says Joe Allen, Przemyslaw Placheta and Kyle Naughton are set to miss the remainder of the season following their own injury issues.
“We have no new injury concerns,” said the Swans boss.
“Nathan Wood is back in full training and he is in contention, and we have some real competition in those positions.
“Joe is progressing well, he has a way to go before he can get out on the pitch but it is going to plan.
“It is more than likely his season is over so we need to do best for Joe and get him in best shape.
“Przemy has some complications in terms of the feedback from the scans and ultrasounds, we are working to find out exactly what the issue is, and we will have a better timescale from there.
“Again, it’s most likely he misses the rest of the season.
“Kyle’s recovery has been good but he has a way to go.”
Winger Josh Ginnelly has been doing individual work at the club’s Fairwood training base as he steps up his return from an Achilles injury.
“Josh has been on the grass with the medical team,” said Williams.
“It’s really encouraging and all the markers are good.
“He will work through the summer to be ready for next season. I have not seen him, so I am excited.
“He has explosive power and athleticism and hopefully he can show us that in pre-season.”
