Nathan Tjoe-A-On happy to get first Swansea City minutes under his belt
Nathan Tjoe-A-On was pleased to get his first minutes in Swansea City colours for the under-21s, and hopes he will soon be fit enough to be in contention for Championship action.
The Dutch left-back played 45 minutes for the development side as they secured a 4-1 victory over Crewe Alexandra at the Swansea.com Stadium.
It was his first outing since joining from Eredivisie side Excelsior for an undisclosed fee, with head coach Michael Duff explaining the defender needs to build his fitness up having not had a pre-season.
“I was really happy to be able to play and get some minutes again,” said Tjoe-A-On.
“It gives me a chance to get used to the way of playing, and that will continue to come with the more games I play.
“I was happy to be out there, and there were a lot of fans here to watch an under-21s game. It’s not really like that in the Netherlands, so it was good.
“I just want to get fit as soon as possible, so obviously having a game like this is good for me to get some game time.
“Getting out there and playing games is different to training so it is good for me.
“I will do whatever I need to do be fit as soon as I can.”
The Rotterdam-born player also feels he is settling in well to his new surroundings.
“It is nice here, it is very different to where I am from, there is a lot of nice scenery , so I am enjoying it so far,” he added.
