Nathan Dyer | Swansea City need to show maturity
Nathan Dyer wants Swansea City to show their maturity when they face Bristol City at Ashton Gate this afternoon.
The Swans head to the West Country looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season.
They face a Robins side lying just one place and two points behind Steve Cooper’s side, and with promotion aspirations of their own having been in play-off contention in each of the last two seasons.
The Swans last visited Ashton Gate in February, suffering a 2-0 defeat as the hosts clinched a league double.
But Dyer believe Swansea are a different proposition this term, and wants to show it.
“Ashton Gate is a hard place to go to. We found that out last season,” he said.
“This year, I feel like we’re a bit more mature in that aspect. Hopefully, we can go there and make sure our heads are screwed on tightly.
“We must go there with our game plan and execute it 100 per cent down to the nail.
“It’s going to be a good test of our credentials.”
The Swans are still unbeaten away from home this season, having recorded wins at QPR and Leeds in addition to a draw at Derby.
Winger Dyer says those encouraging results mean they travel in a positive frame of mind.
“Getting those early couple of results on the road gives us a positive mindset going into this game,” he added.
“There is no doubt that we’ll be going into it knowing we can get a result and come away with the three points.
“If you can make your home a fortress and get some away results, you know you’re on for a great start. Long may it continue.”
