Myles Peart-Harris wants to bring strength, athleticism and goals to Swansea City after sealing a loan move from Brentford.

The attacking midfielder comes straight into contention for Saturday’s Championship fixture at West Bromwich Albion, and will wear the number 25 shirt for the Swans.

The Chelsea academy product, who helped Portsmouth secure promotion to the Championship during a loan spell last term, is renowned for his pace, ability to drive forward with the ball and make late runs into the box.

And he is keen to showcase those qualities and for Luke Williams' side.

“I like playing as an attacking number eight who can get into the box, but I have played in a number of positions over the last few seasons,” said Peart-Harris.

“I have played on the wings, as a striker, as a number 10, and wherever the manager wants me to play I will try and do a job.

“I am powerful, strong and athletic. I like to make runs in behind defenders to get in the box, and ultimately score goals, and I hope I can score plenty of goals for this club this season.”

Peart-Harris had the chance to train with his new colleagues on Friday morning, and he has immediately been impressed by the level of detail provided by the club’s coaching team.

“I am very happy to be here, and very excited to be here. I have met the boys already, they are a great bunch of people and I cannot wait to get started,” he added.

“I think everyone is aware that this is a great club, and this is a new challenge for me. You look at the history of this club, and the platform it is hopefully going to give me to kick on and develop was very important for me.

“The one thing I have noticed already is the attention to detail in training, making sure you are passing to the correct foot and the detail within those drills. It was very, very good.

“The way all the staff handled the session was great. It was lively, it was bubbly, everyone is working hard but enjoying themselves, which is best of all.”

Having had previous loan spells in League One, Peart-Harris is determined to show what he can do at Championship level.

And he admits it might be a sleepless night on Friday with a possible debut at The Hawthorns to look forward to.

“Those previous experiences in League One have helped me. Going through a relegation with that first loan spell, and then bouncing back to help Portsmouth get promoted to the Championship was big,” he said.

“I had to prove to myself I could perform at that level where every game counts, and this move for me now is very important.

“Swansea is a big club, and I need to prove to myself and to the fans what I am capable of. I am excited about it, I don’t think I will get much sleep tonight thinking about coming on tomorrow and hopefully scoring the winner, or something like that!

“We know we will be playing a good side but I know the boys will be up for it.”
