Mykola Kuharevich takes important step as he builds fitness
Mykola Kuharevich felt he had taken an important step in building up his fitness after playing an hour and finding the net for Swansea City Under-21s on Monday.
The Ukrainian striker joined from French club Troyes at the end of July, but missed out on a lot of pre-season due to injury.
He made a cameo against Northampton Town in the Carabao Cup, coming on for the final 10 minutes, but was pleased to get a longer run-out with the development side.
And he marked his appearance with a goal as he turned in Josh Ginnelly's cross for the third of four Swansea goals in a 4-1 victory.
“I’m happy, it was a good game and we played well as a team,” said Kuharevich.
“For me, they were important minutes. It was my first start for a long time, and that was very important for me.
“I was happy to score and was happy with my performance, they key is to keep working now.
“I feel like I’m getting fitter and my confidence is growing. This performance really helped with that. Every day I try to give everything on the training pitch to improve myself every day.
“This has made me even hungrier for my full debut for the first team.
“We’re all pushing for that, I want to be there, I want to play there and I want to score there. Hopefully I will be able to contribute to the first team as much as I can soon.”
