Montero seals Emelec loan
Swansea City winger Jefferson Montero has returned to Ecuador after joining his former club Emelec on a sub-loan for the rest of the season, subject to international clearance.
The 28-year-old originally moved to Spanish side Getafe in September on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
He remains on Getafe’s books for the rest of the season, but he has now been loaned to Emelec from the La Liga club as the transfer window is open in Ecuador.
Montero, who has scored twice in 72 games for the Swans, has made just four substitute appearances for Getafe, but he now returns to his homeland with the club for whom he started his professional career as he looks to play regular first-team football.
