Mitchell Bates joins National League South outfit Truro City on loan
Swansea City midfielder Mitchell Bates has joined Truro City on loan for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign, subject to international clearance.
The move sees Bates link up with the Tinners as they look to secure promotion to the National League. They currently sit fifth in the National League South table.
As part of the deal, the option to extend Bates’ Swansea contract through to the summer of 2026 has been taken up.
Bates returned to the Swans in February 2023 from Briton Ferry Llansawel, following a successful trial.
He had previously had a stint with the club before spending five seasons with Briton Ferry, where he made the breakthrough to senior football.
He has skippered the Swansea City Under-21 side impressively this season, and been the model of consistency in the centre of the park.
Additionally, Swansea City forward Maliq Cadogan has returned from his loan spell with Kidderminster Harriers. The 20-year-old linked up with the Harriers in August, and has made a dozen National League North appearances for the club.
