Swansea City midfielder Yori Griffith has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The deal secures the youngster’s future at the club until the end of June 2026, with an option for an additional 12 months.

The 17-year-old has been at the Swans since under-10 level and has since progressed through the ranks; signing his scholarship prior to the 2023-24 season.

A regular for the under-18s, Griffith made his first under-21s' start in their 2-1 loss away to Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium in March, scoring on his full debut.

The midfielder played every game in the under-18s' Professional Development League Cup campaign, as they reached the final before losing against Millwall at The Den in April.

Under-18s' head coach Jarred Harvey said: "It's an incredible achievement for Yori, he's been at the club since he was very young and he's a great boy.

"Before he signed his scholarship, Yori played up an age group with the under-18s, and he's also shown he can by slotting straight in to the under-21s.

"He was hit with an injury in the closing stages of the season, but he is someone who is focused and works so hard, he'll be ready for the new campaign and hopefully gain some experience around the first-team set-up."
