Michael Duff | We want an improved away performance
Michael Duff has challenged his Swansea City side to produce an improved away-day showing when they take on Preston North End at Deepdale this afternoon (3pm).
The Swans head to Lancashire to take on a Lilywhites side who have taken seven points from their opening three games in the Championship.
The visitors only defeat of the campaign so far came in their opening away game at West Bromwich Albion, where Swansea suffered a 3-2 defeat with Duff feeling his side had lacked intensity and purpose in their play for too much of that afternoon.
And he wants to see a better showing on the road this weekend.
“It’s a long away trip, Preston have had a good start. It will be a tough test, as they all are, and they have a lot of Championship knowhow,” said Duff.
“Most of that team have been together for a long time, so we will have to go and do better than we did at West Brom.
“We will need to move the ball quicker, with more precision. We cannot concede goals like we did from crosses and set plays.
“If you give up goals like that in this league you will make it tough for yourself no matter where you go.”
