Michael Duff | We got the result the performance deserved
Swansea City head coach Michael Duff was delighted with the performance and result after watching his side secure a third win in a row against Norwich City.
The Swans emerged as 2-1 winners against the Canaries thanks to Bashir Humphreys’ late volleyed winner.
Jamal Lowe had given the hosts the lead in just the third minute, before Gabriel Sara levelled with a header from a deflected cross.
But the Swans finished the game the stronger, with Jerry Yates having a goal ruled out for offside and then seeing an effort cleared off the line.
Ollie Cooper was also denied by a sharp save from Angus Gunn, before Humphreys popped up with his first senior goal.
And Swans boss Duff felt his side had got their just rewards for the quality of their play with the ball, and the hard work they had put in without it.
“I was delighted with the performance and the result. We were good value for the win,” he said.
“I think the reaction we have shown since the Cardiff game has been really good, and I thought we were good value for the win.
“They are a really good team, but I thought we played some really good football in the first half and we scored from a high press again.
“Their goal came from a poor press but sometimes that can happen when you are looking to get high up the pitch.
“Second half we had to sit in for a little bit, you look at the quality of the subs they bring on, but I don’t remember Carl making too many saves.
“We had more than 20 shots, and then the work-rate, the players sticking together and defending the box, that gave us the platform to go on and win the game.
“We had one off the line with Jerry, where I don’t know how it did not cross the line, then we had the goalmouth scramble.
“The crowd got involved and helped get us through in the last 10 minutes.
"We finished the game really strongly, which is good in terms of fitness levels, but in terms of mentality, as well."
