Head coach Michael Duff believes Swansea City’s players and fans will be able to feed off each other’s energy during Saturday’s home match against Leicester City (3pm kick-off).

The Foxes are the Championship league-leaders winning 10 of their 11 opening matches so far, but the Swans also go into the match in fine form picking up 13 points from a possible 15.

Duff believes the fans can help give the team an extra edge during the weekend’s match, with a large crowd expected for the clash against many people’s favourites to win the second-tier title.

“The fans have been brilliant and they are a huge part of the football club,” said Duff.

“You quickly learn just how important the club is to all the people in this city and community.

“You go back to that Sheffield Wednesday game, we had been through a difficult run but they stuck with us and were so positive in how they backed us.

“That is huge, hopefully they can see what we are building, we have had some positive results.

“We will certainly need them on Saturday because we are playing against a really good side, and I know they will be right with us.

“But we don’t want to just survive on Saturday, we want to try and impose ourselves.

“We want to get on the front foot, and the supporters can be a big part of helping us with that. If we have that I think we have a chance of making it a good day.”
