Michael Duff | It will take time to implement things
Head coach Michael Duff says it will take time for Swansea City to adapt to a new way of working, as they prepare for Tuesday’s pre-season friendly against Bristol Rovers at the Swansea.com Stadium (7pm kick-off).
Duff is in the middle of his first pre-season in charge of the Swans, with his appointment having been confirmed a little over four weeks ago and a first league fixture of the Championship campaign just under two weeks away.
It means a quick turnaround for Duff, his coaching staff and the Swans squad to adjust and adapt.
The Swans boss has been pleased with the way his players have taken onboard new information, but knows there is plenty more work to be done in the weeks and months ahead.
“It takes a long time to implement things,” he said.
“It’s about getting the players to understand what we want; where their first pass is, and where we want them to pass it.
“They are new ideas and different ideas, and so that is going to take time.
“It’s also about eradicating mistakes and poor goals, we want to concede fewer goals this season so it’s important we work to stamp those out.
“These matches are important from that perspective.”
