Michael Duff and Swansea City squad savour sharing victory with travelling Jacks
Michael Duff savoured sharing the moment with the Swansea City supporters after he, his players and staff all thanked the travelling Jacks following their 3-1 victory at Plymouth Argyle.
The Swans registered a fourth Championship win in a row, as they came from behind at Home Park.
They had trailed to a Luke Cundle goal at the interval, but levelled when Jerry Yates bundled in Liam Cullen’s header.
Goalkeeper Carl Rushworth then made a key save to deny Bali Mumba, and the Swans made the most of it as Ollie Cooper put them ahead seconds after coming on as a substitute.
And the win was sealed in the final minute of the 90 when Josh Key kept his composure to find the net from Jamie Paterson’s magnificent assist.
The players were roared on by just under 1,700 away fans in Devon, and all in Swansea colours stopped to applaud them as they made their way from the field of play.
“I hope the supporters can see the things we are working on coming out, and we are fully appreciative of the efforts they make to support the team," he said.
“I feel tired and I get to travel on a lovely coach and stay in nice hotels, it’s not that way for people who spend their hard-earned money to watch us.
“To be able to celebrate with the supporters is special. We’re in a seaside resort, the sun is out and I am sure they will enjoy a few beers tonight.
“I think it’s really important to share moments like that with the supporters. They are special and it’s important to take it in and not just clap and walk down the tunnel.
“It’s lovely to enjoy those moments in each other’s company.”
