Meet the officials | Wigan Athletic
Craig Pawson will be the referee when Swansea City host Wigan Athletic on Saturday November 5. (3pm kick-off).
Saturday will mark the ninth time the man from south Yorkshire has travelled to SA1 and his 13th time in charge of a Swans game.
He first travelled to the then Liberty Stadium in March 2010 where he presided over a 0-0 draw between the Swans and Ipswich Town. His second trip to the stadium – a 1-0 home win over Newcastle United in March 2013 – was significant as it was Pawson’s Premier League debut.
Pawson most recently blew the whistle for a Swansea City game in April 2018; a forgettable 5-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
The 43-year-old has been working in the Football League since the 2008-09 season and was promoted to the Select Group – officials working predominantly in the top-flight – in 2013.
Two years later he became the seventh English referee to be included on the FIFA International Referee List and he began the current season by taking charge of a Champions League match between Pyunik Yerevan and F91 Dudelange.
His first match this campaign on home soil was the Community Shield fixture between Liverpool and Manchester City. He has taken charge of a further 12 matches this season, mostly in the Premier League. He is yet to send anyone off this term but has handed out 66 yellow cards.
Saturday will be his second Championship fixture of the 2022-23 season, having previously blown the whistle on Blackburn Rovers home victory over Sunderland last month.
Pawson will be assisted by Marc Perry and Scott Ledger. The fourth official will be Keith Stroud.
