Meet the officials | Sheffield Wednesday

Anthony Backhouse will be the man in the middle when Swansea City host Sheffield Wednesday at the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

The Cumbrian official will take charge of a Swans fixture for the first time, in what will be his fourth Championship game.

Backhouse was first at the helm of a second-tier game back in December 2019, when he oversaw Hull City against Birmingham City.

He had the whistle for a meeting between Coventry and Cardiff last term, before most recently officiating West Brom's draw at Bristol City last weekend.

Backhouse has refereed in the EFL since the 2017-18 season, and last season he took charge of the first leg of the incredible League One play-off semi-final between Peterborough United and Sheffield Wednesday.

He was promoted to Select Group 2 during the summer.
