Meet the officials | Sheffield United
Leigh Doughty will be the referee for Swansea City’s Championship clash with Sheffield United on Wednesday (7.45pm kick-off).
The Lancashire official will be taking charge of a Swans’ fixture for the first time this season, having most recently blown the whistle on one of our games in April 2024.
The Swans won 1-0 against Rotherham that day after an Andy Rinomhota own goal.
Doughty refereed in the National League during the 2018-19 season, before stepping up to EFL level the following season, and then to the second tier in 2020-21.
This season, he has taken charge of six games across the Championship and the League Cup. He has handed out a total of 27 yellow cards.
On Wednesday, he will be assisted by Nigel Lugg and Jonathan Hunt. Geoff Eltringham will be the fourth official.
