Meet the officials | Reading
James Linington will be the man in charge when Swansea City face Reading in their televised Championship match on December 27 (5.15pm kick-off).
The man from the Isle of Wight will be taking charge of his 13th Swans match on Tuesday.
Swans fans will remember he was the official in August 2009 when Swansea hosted Scunthorpe United in the then-Carling Cup.
In a match that went to extra time, Linington sent off three Swans players with Garry Monk, Angel Rangel and Gorka Pintado all shown red.
Further injuries to Stephen Dobbie and Besian Idrizaj after all the subs had been used meant the game came close to being abandoned due to the Swans being down to six men.
In the end, Idrizaj stood on the pitch to allow the match to finish even though he wasn’t really able to take part.
It's been much calmer for Linington and the Swans since then and he was most recently in charge of a south Wales derby victory when goals from Jamie Paterson, Joel Piroe and Jake Bidwell sealed an emphatic 3-0 win over Cardiff at the Swansea.com Stadium.
On Tuesday, Linington will be assisted by Daniel Leach and Matthew Jones. Dean Whitestone will be the fourth official.
