Meet the officials | Northampton Town
Peter Wright will be the man in charge when Swansea City host Northampton Town in their Carabao Cup first-round tie on Tuesday (7.30pm).
The man from Liverpool was promoted to the National List of Referees in the summer of 2018, having worked his way up from the Craven Minor Football League.
He spent time in a referee academy programme which was located at Everton and Liverpool football clubs, before continuing his training in Durham County whilst studying in the north-east.
After excelling in the National League and being awarded the 2018 play-off semi-final between Tranmere and Ebbsfleet, he took charge of his first League Two match in August of that year.
In recent seasons he has worked mostly in League One, but did take charge of an all-Championship Carabao Cup match last season when Coventry City were defeated by Bristol City. This is the first time he has been appointed to a Swans match.
Wright's most recent outing in this competition was an upset as League One Morecambe defeated Rotherham United at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.
In total last season, Wright took charge of 23 matches, handing out 75 yellow cards and three reds.
On Tuesday, he will be assisted by Sam Ogles and Dean Treleaven. Farai Hallam will be the fourth official.
