Meet the officials | Coventry City
Robert Jones will be the man in charge when Swansea City travel to face Coventry City on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
The Merseyside-based referee was promoted to the EFL in 2016 and took charge of his first Swans game – a Carabao Cup clash against MK Dons – in August 2017.
He was fast-tracked through the English football pyramid and made his Premier League debut in December 2019 when he oversaw a topflight match between Brighton and Hove Albion and Sheffield United. Former Swan Oli McBurnie was the only goal scorer that day.
Jones has gone on to take charge of a further 30 Premier League matches and he has worked mostly in that division this term.
Saturday will mark the eighth time he has taken charge of the Swans. The most recent of these was a 3-0 win over Millwall at The Den in April 2021. Andrew Ayew and Jamal Lowe (2) were on the scoresheet that day and no one was shown a card.
This weekend, Jones will be assisted by Ian Hussin and Natalie Aspinall. The fourth official will be Darren Bond.
