Meet the officials | Bristol City
Matthew Donohue will be the man in the middle for Swansea City’s league clash with Bristol City on Sunday (12.30pm kick-off).
This will be the fourth time he has overseen a Swans match this term, having most recently taken charge of Luke Williams’ first Championship game as head coach – a 2-2 draw with Birmingham City at St Andrew’s.
Prior to that, Donohue took charge of the Carabao Cup match against Bournemouth in August, and he was also a late replacement for a league match against Middlesbrough on December 16.
The Manchester-based official climbed the ranks quickly, earning three successive promotions which saw him progress from National League North to the EFL’s List of Referees between 2016 and 2018.
The former primary school teacher first took charge of a Swans match in February 2021 – a 3-2 home defeat to Derby County.
So far this season he has taken charge of 24 matches, handing out 113 yellow cards and two reds.
On Sunday he will be assisted by Paul Hodskinson and Lee Venamore. Stephen Martin is the fourth official.
