Matty Sorinola | We showed character and resilience in West Brom victory
Matty Sorinola was proud of the character Swansea City showed as they came from behind to take three points at West Bromwich Albion.
Sorinola had initially given the visitors the lead by scoring his first goal for the club, but West Brom hit back in the second half and the Swans found themselves behind shortly after the hour-mark.
But Russell Martin's side showed real resilience to weather those blows and respond through goals from Olivier Ntcham and Michael Obafemi. plus a crucial penalty save from Steven Benda.
“I feel like recently we’ve been showing a lot of character,” Sorinola said.
“West Brom isn’t an easy place to come to, especially when you go 2-1 behind, so to then come back and win 3-2 showed character.
“Everyone played their part and really dug in and we know how important that is because everyone has a role to play.
“I feel like the performances have been there since the start of the season, it’s just been about turning those into wins, but I feel like we’ve started to do that.
“Now we can move on and we just need to carry on building on this."
Sorinola's goal comes amidst his own improving form as he gets up to full speed in his new surroundings, and the wing-back is enjoying life in SA1.
“I’m enjoying my football a lot. Obviously I worked under the manager before and some of the other staff, but I’m just enjoying it. I’m happy to be here and happy to be playing," he added.
“I know how the manager wants to play so it wasn’t too hard for me to settle in. All the boys have been great so it’s not been too difficult. It’s been good.
“Hopefully now we can keep winning, because we’re on a roll now.”
