Matt Grimes | We need to regroup ahead of Blackpool
Captain Matt Grimes says Swansea City must learn their lessons and regroup ahead of Wednesday's meeting with Blackpool at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The Swans fell to a 3-0 defeat against promotion-favourites Sheffield United after being unable to build on a good start at Bramall Lane.
They were punished by a clinical home side as Sander Berge, Jack Robinson and Oli McBurnie found the net for the Blades.
But Grimes believes that the Swans showed positives in patches and hopes the Swans can build on those moments during the midweek visit from the Seasiders.
“It’s been the story of our season really but we need to regroup because there’s a big game on Wednesday," said the midfielder.
“We had a disappointing week last week. Now we want to play on the front foot and impose ourselves at home. I’m sure we’ll be right at it.
“We wanted to start the game on the front foot and be aggressive and I thought we did that,” he said.
“But then we conceded poor goals, I didn’t think it was a 3-0 game to be honest. I thought in patches we played well, but it was always going to be a tough ask to come here and pick up three points especially with the form they’re in.
"I thought at times we went toe-to-toe with them, but we shot ourselves in the foot in the end.
“It’s all ifs, buts and maybes but I think the second goal just gave them a cushion just before half time so it was always going to be an uphill battle in the second half."
