Matt Grimes | We have to keep working, things can change quickly in football
Captain Matt Grimes admits Swansea City are going through a tough period, but believes they have the ability to turn things around quickly.
The Swans suffered a 1-0 defeat to Millwall on Saturday, where they were punished for not making the most of a host of good chances in a game they dominated.
Lions keeper Lukas Jensen saved from Josh Key, Myles-Peart Harris, Zan Vipotnik, Joe Allen and Florian Bianchini, while the Swans also saw Ronald and Bianchini send efforts agonisingly wide.
But the visitors, who had rarely threatened, snatched all three points when Casper De Norre swept home in the final minute of the 90.
“In the absolute worst-case scenario that game should be 0-0,” said the skipper.
“We created enough chances but we didn’t capitalise on them, and then we switch off and concede right at the end.
“It would have been disappointing to draw, but to lose is absolutely gutting.
“We know we are in a difficult situation, but we also know things can change quickly in football.
"We have a week to get ready for the next game and that starts another three-game week, so that’s the next chance we have.
“We need to get back to it and put a good run together. We started the season well, we dipped off, and now we need to get back to it.
“We know we can do it, we have shown enough this year to show we can be a really good team but it’s not quite falling into place at the moment. We have to keep at it.”
