Matt Grimes | It was important to put together back-to-back performances and results
Captain Matt Grimes believes Swansea City can take a lot of confidence from backing up their first win of the season with a fine performance and victory at Millwall.
The Swans ran out 3-0 winners at The Den as they made consecutive victories - extending their unbeaten run to three games - following the same scoreline against Sheffield Wednesday.
Michael Duff’s side secured all three points as a Jamal Lowe penalty, a Mykola Kuharevich header and a strike from Grimes himself made for an excellent afternoon's work.
“It’s probably the best result so far,” said the skipper.
“It was important we backed up our result last week with another good performance and we did that.
“Three goals away from home and a clean sheet is as good as you can expect really and we can take confidence from that."
The win over Millwall made it seven points from a possible nine for Duff’s men, while they also now have back-to-back clean sheets.
Attention now turns to Wednesday’s home game with Norwich City at the Swansea.com Stadium, and Grimes believes the Swans are steadily improving after a tough few weeks.
“In the last couple of weeks we know we haven’t hit the levels that were expected at the start of the season,” said the skipper.
“After the Cardiff game we had a bit of a reset and I think in the last three games we have put in some really good performances.”
