Matt Grimes expects reaction at Bristol City

Captain Matt Grimes expects to see a reaction from Swansea City when they look to return to winning ways at Bristol City on Saturday.

The Swans saw their undefeated start to the season brought to an end last weekend, but they remain among the early Championship pacesetters.

The Robins have also enjoyed a strong beginning to the season, sitting just one place and two points behind Steve Cooper’s men ahead of the upcoming clash at Ashton Gate.

It promises to be a mouthwatering fixture between rivals just 80 miles apart.

And midfielder Grimes has made clear he expects to see a response from his side as they look to rapidly put the disappointment of a rare Liberty Stadium defeat behind them.

“There’s an old cliché, don’t lose two on the bounce and we need to ensure that we do that,” he said.

“We need to make sure that we bounce back this week and not let one defeat become two or three. It means this is a big week for us now.

“We need to make sure that our levels are better and play more of the game that we have been accustomed to so far this season.

“We are confident that we can win any game so we’ll be going into Saturday’s match full of confidence and hoping we can pick up the three points.

“Sometimes how you react is more important than what actually does happen so we just need to keep going and keep believing in what we are doing.”
