Matt Grimes | The boys were brave and kept going
Captain Matt Grimes praised the bravery of his teammates to fight back in tough conditions against Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.
The Swans made it back-to-back draws, with the skipper's goal in the 64th minute securing another point at Kenilworth Road.
Elijah Adebayo opened the scoring for The Hatters after 17 minutes played, finishing from an acute angle after latching on to an under-hit pass.
But Grimes, left unmarked on the edge of the box, smashed home from a corner-kick to get the visitors back on level terms. The Swans had chances to take the lead through Florian Bianchini and Jisung Eom, but a Man of the Match performance from Hatters' keeper Thomas Kaminski was the only barrier in the way.
"They were probably the worst conditions I've ever played in, the pitch was very wet and it was windy. It's tough to come here anyway, and then to come here in those conditions," he said.
"The lads were so brave, played exactly how we want to play and we'll take a point and we kept going.
"We work so hard on set-pieces with Alan Sheehan in training, and today we executed that well and got a goal.
"I think we've put in good performances in the last six or seven games, and with the quick turnaround, we'll go again build on the positives and get a result."
And with Storm Darragh disrupting travel across the UK, Grimes praised the 1300 strong away end for making the tough journey to support the team.
"The fans were unbelievable. We were saying before the game, we wouldn't blame anyone for staying in and not turning because the conditions are horrific, but fair play to them they surprise me every week. They're outstanding," he added.
