Marc Guehi seals Swansea City return
Marc Guehi has returned to Swansea City after sealing a season-long loan from Chelsea, subject to international clearance.
The 20-year-old defender spent the second half of last season on loan from the Blues at the Liberty Stadium, and made a big impression over his 14 appearances.
He becomes the fourth summer addition to Steve Cooper’s squad, following the arrivals of Korey Smith, Freddie Woodman and Morgan Gibbs-White.
Guehi excelled when brought into the starting line-up as Swansea moved to three at the back in the period after the resumption of football.
He was responsible for one of the stand-out moments of the Swans’ dramatic surge into the play-off places, making a brilliant late block in the win over Reading that clinched a top-six spot.
Steve Cooper praised the performances of the Under-17 World Cup winner, and the head coach will be able to call upon Guehi for the upcoming 2020-21 campaign.
