Man in the Middle: Kevin Friend
Kevin Friend will take charge of Swansea City’s Premier League fixture against Liverpool at Anfield on Boxing Day (5.30pm).
Friend, from Leicester, will be the man in the middle for a Swans game for the first time this season.
The last Swans match Friend refereed was the 1-0 loss to West Ham at the London Stadium in April.
Coincidentally, the 46-year-old was also in charge of the Swans’ 3-2 victory over Liverpool at Anfield in January, as well as the Swans’ Capital One Cup final victory at Wembley in February 2013.
Friend has officiated 13 of the Liberty club’s Premier League matches, with the Swans winning six, drawing two and losing five.
He will be assisted at Anfield by Adrian Holmes and Mark Scholes, while Paul Tierney is the fourth official.
