Man in the middle: Gavin Ward
Gavin Ward will referee Swansea City’s Championship clash with Bristol City on Saturday (3pm).
The Surrey official has refereed the Swans twice before and they have won on both occasions.
His most recent Swans assignment was back in December 2010, when Jermaine Easter’s goal secured a 1-0 home victory over Barnsley in the Championship.
Ward was also in charge at the Liberty the previous February, when a David Cotterill penalty was enough to give the Swans a 1-0 win over Peterborough.
A Football League official since 2007, Ward took charge of last season’s EFL Trophy final.
He last refereed Bristol City in April 2016, when they drew 1-1 with Rotherham.
Ward will be assisted on Saturday by Mark Pottage and Matt Foley, while Brett Huxtable will be the fourth official.
