Luke Williams | We need to show bravery, and play with no fear
Head coach Luke Williams has urged Swansea City to be brave and aggressive as they prepare to host Ipswich Town at the Swansea.com Stadium this afternoon (3pm).
The Swans face the Tractor Boys on the back of defeat against Leeds in midweek, with Williams disappointed by the lack of intensity in his side’s performance.
While the Swans boss acknowledges the size of the challenge in facing a number of sides near the top of the table in quick succession, he is clear those are the levels his side have to strive to get to.
And to do that, that will mean being prepared to be on the front foot and to play without fear.
“I want us to be braver, I want us to be more aggressive, to play without hesitation and without fear,” said Williams.
“Then you need to add quality to that to make high-level actions and to defend high-level actions.
“That is what we are aiming for, we are going for the level it takes to be at the top and we are going to get there.
“They are a good team with a good togetherness and way of working, but we are working to push our boundaries and that means there will be tough times and tough tests.
“You cannot build anything that proves to be successful without going through tough times. As I say, it’s a tough test, but we cannot wait for this test.
“We need to be brave and improve our level of performance, and we will improve and fare better against the top sides in the future.”
