Head coach Luke Williams wants Swansea City to deliver a performance to give supporters plenty to shout about against Blackburn Rovers this afternoon (3pm).

The Swans return to home turf at the Swansea.com Stadium looking to build on a fine performance in victory at Sunderland last weekend.

Williams and his players have admitted there needs to be an improvement and results at home, but the Swans boss says the onus is firmly on the players to ensure that is the case, and give fans a showing they can get behind.

“It’s hard to know why home form has not been as good as we would like. From my experience here, and the few home games I have had, there is some tension in the players we need to relieve,” he said.

“We need to play in the moment and not anticipate things, but I don’t think there is some curse or any big issue.

“It’s pressure and tension because the players want to give supporters what they want, and we want a team the fans can buy into and make the team feel supported on the pitch.

“But that has to come from us first, we know as soon as the team play on the front foot how noisy it gets, so it’s down to us to perform in a way that gives the supporters something to get behind.

“There is nothing they can do from the stands, so to make them part of the performance you have to give them enough stuff to get excited about and to hang on to. If we do that, they will do the rest.”
