Luke Williams | We need to find a spark
Head coach Luke Williams admits Swansea City need to find a spark to help them navigate their way out of a tough period following a 2-0 defeat to Coventry City.
First-half goals from Ellis Simms and Brandon Thomas-Asante gave the Sky Blues the three points at the Swansea.com Stadium.
Liam Cullen’s header, which was saved by Oliver Dovin, proved the closest the Swans got to finding the net.
Swans boss Williams had no issue with the effort his players put into the contest, but acknowledges they need to show better composure and assertiveness in the final third.
“I thought we looked a bit nervy in the opening exchanges, although I didn’t think there was a huge amount in the game,” he said.
“But the front two of Coventry really hurt us and we did not have the quality to get back on terms or to cause them enough problems.
“We had a couple of moments which we were not able to make enough of.
“We are going through a tough period, we need a spark, we have to find a way to control games again, to make more box entries and be more aggressive going forward.
“The players tried throughout the game to get back on terms, there was no shortage of effort, we struggled to cope with the front two of the opposition who caused us a lot of problems.”
