Luke Williams | We must not let our standards drop
Head coach Luke Williams has urged Swansea City not to let their standards drop and build on the confidence gained from victory over Hull City when they host Leeds United tonight (7.45pm).
The Swans entertain an in-form Leeds side chasing automatic promotion and an immediate return to the Premier League under the lights at the Swansea.com Stadium.
They will start as underdogs, but have reasons to be positive after an impressive away performance in victory over the Tigers at the MKM Stadium thanks to Liam Cullen’s early goal.
And Williams wants his side to ensure they perform to a high level once again.
“We know we have some really tough games coming up against top opposition, so we have to try and learn as much as we possibly can from the weekend game and understand why we have been successful,” he said.
“We now have to try and make that the standard we don’t drop from.
“It was a fantastic result and performance at the weekend, the players deserved it and delivered on what we had worked on in the week.
“I had felt a strong, positive energy in the changing room going in to the game. We played with belief and now, with a win and a clean sheet, we have a chance to build on that belief.
“We have to try to harness that, and go and compete against tough opposition.
“We have to find our own way, and repetition of what we are working on is important.
“You will make mistakes as you work on things, but if you keep working on it, improving your understanding and improving your accuracy it will eventually become second nature to you and that builds confidence."
