Luke Williams | We have a huge responsibility
Head coach Luke Williams wants Swansea City to give another big Swansea.com Stadium crowd a performance to rally behind when they host Queens Park Rangers this afternoon (3pm).
The Swans are back in SA1 for their first home fixture since the 2-0 south Wales derby victory over Cardiff City before the international break.
The raucous atmosphere as team and supporters fed off each other’s energy made for a memorable occasion and, with ticket prices having been slashed for the visit of the R’s, there is set to be another bumper attendance.
And Williams says the onus is on everyone in the Swansea set-up to make sure they deliver on the field to give the supporters plenty to cheer about.
“I cannot wait for us to be back at home again,” said the Swans boss.
“I think we have a huge responsibility on us, as a squad and a staff.
“We have a huge responsibility to try and ensure we make something enjoyable for our supporters.
“We have to try to ensure we help them make that atmosphere where they can join in because of the performance.
“When we start to do that regularly it is going to be a very different place.”
Williams hopes he may have midfielder Liam Walsh available for Easter Monday fixture, having been on the sidelines since January.
But the game looks set to come too soon for defender Ben Cabango.
“We might potentially have players back,” added Williams.
“I think Liam Walsh is very close to being in the squad now, so I am very excited to have Liam.
“Ben Cabango, I think he might be a bit longer, but it’s going to be a good introduction if we can get Liam up to speed.”
