Luke Williams | We have had some good performances on our travels, we need more of them
Luke Williams has challenged Swansea City to reproduce the level of recent away performances when they face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park this afternoon (3pm).
The Swans head to Lancashire having lost just one of their last five Championship fixtures.
Among that quintet of fixtures was an impressive away win at perennial play-off challengers Coventry City, and a narrow defeat at promotion favourites Sheffield United where the visitors caused more than a few problems for the Blades.
Ewood Park has not historically been a happy hunting ground for Swansea, with last-season’s victory just a third at the venue and a first in 52 years.
But Williams is not concerned with history, only with seeing his side perform at a high level.
“We have another tough Championship game ahead, no doubt about it,” said the Swans boss.
“We know what we are expecting from them and we have to go there and be a good side if we are to get anything at all.
“We played very well in our last away game, and if we can produce that level consistently on the road we will have a really good return.
“I think Sheffield United are a fantastic side, that will be one of the toughest away games for anyone this season.
“So, if we can give a good account of ourselves in that game then we should take that as being our level and our standard away from home.
“That is to go to places and control the game and be competitive, and we have to do that again.”
