Luke Williams | We have to be much better away from home, and this is a big test for us
Luke Williams has urged Swansea City to turn around a run of poor away results when they take on Norwich City at Carrow Road this afternoon (12.30pm).
The Swans head to Carrow Road having lost their last four away games in all competitions, which has been in contrast to their recent showings on home turf.
The head coach has spoken of the need for his team to be more consistent, and he hopes their showing in East Anglia last season, where they more than played their part in an entertaining 2-2 draw against the play-off bound Canaries last term.
“They are an excellent team playing at a tough venue as they are always well supported,” he said.
“But, at the same time, we look forward to this environment because our recent away games we have been flat and largely uninspiring.
“We have to do much, much better. This will be an atmosphere that makes everyone alive instantly, and it’s about making sure we don’t get negatively affected by it.
“For example, when we went there last season, we rose to the atmosphere and the occasion. Everyone rose to it, we felt really positive and we played in a good way.
“We used the atmosphere to give us energy and we need to do the same this time, because they are a really good side and, personally for me, one of the most attractive teams to watch.
“They have a lot of swagger and a nice style of play so we have to be ready for a really tough test and be brave enough to try and impose ourselves.
“We have done it many times this season, but we have been inconsistent and it means this is going to be a big challenge.”
