Luke Williams | We are ready to fight and give everyone who loves this club a boost
Head coach Luke Williams says he and his players are desperate to give everyone connected to Swansea City a boost when they host Coventry City on Saturday.
The Swans host the Sky Blues following a tough run of results, particularly away from home.
However, their recent home performances have been strong, with wins over Queens Park Rangers and Luton Town, followed by a draw against West Bromwich Albion and a narrow defeat to Sheffield United after Harry Darling’s red card.
And Williams insists he and his players are giving everything they have as they search for a first win of 2025.
“We have to be able to withstand the pressure and come out fighting. We need to give everybody who loves this club a boost. Without question that is what we are gearing up to do,” he said.
“We are doing everything we can, it is extremely challenging and it’s a very difficult division. There are tough environments and situations for players to deal with and we have to overcome them, we have to because we need to give everyone a huge boost and make everyone feel excited again about this team.
“I am more than happy to embrace the challenge, it takes up every waking moment and most of the sleeping ones too, I think! I am consumed by wanting to do well for Swansea City, I am not going to run for cover.
“I cannot wait for those good times again and being deserving of the fans singing my name, because there is no better feeling than that, but I have to earn that.
“Like I say there is an opportunity, it’s something I have spoken to the players about.
“There are moments you can either view as opportunities or threats. Certain people look at moments as threats and react that way, others react like a warrior and seize it as a moment to do something good.
“We need the warriors to step up. I believe in myself, I believe in the players. We have struggled, but I have full confidence and I believe this group are learning a lot.
“We know need to show the character to find a second wind over the remainder of the season.”
