Luke Williams urges Swansea City to provide festive entertainment for the Jack Army
Luke Williams and Swansea City are hoping they can provide some festive cheer and entertainment for the Jack Army as they prepare to kick-off a hectic run of four games in 10 days against Queens Park Rangers on Boxing Day afternoon (3pm).
The Swans are on home turf for three of those games, with Luton Town due in SA1 in three days, and West Bromwich Albion due to visit on January 4 following the New Year’s Day trip to Portsmouth.
It makes for a period where a lot of points are on offer in a very short period of time, with little recovery time for players.
Williams acknowledges it is a sequence that brings its own challenges, but knows all too well what a special time of year this is for supporters with festive fixtures always eagerly-anticipated once Christmas dinner and presents have been enjoyed.
And the Swans boss wants his side to make sure they provide plenty of entertainment for those cheering his side on.
“We had our Christmas lunch last week, that was really nice seeing the guys enjoying each other’s company because we are a close group in that way,” he said.
“We will train on Christmas Day, so it will be presents in the morning and then they can come in with all their new clothes on for training.
“We need to make sure we provide entertainment for families at Christmas who love their football club. We are the entertainment, and that’s a privilege.
“We will fit in family time, but we also have to remember it’s our responsibility to provide Christmas cheer for all Swans.”
